Winter Storm Warning Statement as of 4:24 PM EST on February 18, 2015
Winter Storm Warning in effect from 10 PM this evening to 1 am
EST Friday.
The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Storm
Warning for heavy snow which is in effect from 10 PM this
evening to 1 am EST Friday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in
effect.
* Hazard types... heavy snow.
* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 8 to 12 inches.
* Timing... some light snow is possible early this evening. Heavier
snowfall will move into the area late this evening. This snow
will taper off late Friday.
* Impacts... snow covered roads and low visibilities could lead
to dangerous travel conditions.
* Winds... northeast 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
* Visibilities... one quarter mile or less at times.
* Temperatures... 7 to 27 above.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel keep an extra flashlight
food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
