Blizzard Warning Statement as of 3:31 am EST on February 15, 2015
Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 7 am EST Monday.
* hazard types... blowing snow... and blizzard conditions.
* Accumulations... total snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches.
* Timing... snow ends this afternoon but significant blowing snow
continues into Monday.
* Impacts... blowing snow will lead to blizzard conditions at
times. Travel will be dangerous or impossible with snow covered
roads and low visibility. Wind chill values are expected to be
well below zero.
* Winds... northwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
* Visibilities... one quarter mile or less at times.
* Temperatures... 6 below to 15 above zero.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds
and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout
conditions... making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel. If
you must travel... have a winter survival kit with you. If you get
stranded... stay with your vehicle.
