Blizzard Watch update
Blizzard Watch Statement as of 3:48 am EST on February 13, 2015
Blizzard watch remains in effect from Saturday evening through
Sunday evening.
* hazard types... heavy snow... blowing snow... and blizzard
conditions.
* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 12 to 16 inches possible.
* Timing... snow begins Saturday afternoon and becomes heavy at
times at night into Sunday. Winds will increase by Sunday
morning causing widespread blowing snow. Snow comes to an end
during the day Sunday.
* Impacts... the combination of heavy snow and blowing snow may
lead to whiteout conditions at times. This may make driving
extremely dangerous if not impossible.
* Winds... north 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.
* Temperatures... 2 below to 21 above zero.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A blizzard watch means there is a potential for falling and/or
blowing snow with strong winds and extremely poor visibilities.
This can lead to whiteout conditions and make travel very
dangerous.
