Updated Wind Chill Advisory
Wind Chill Advisory Statement as of 2:35 am EST on February 16, 2015
Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect until noon EST today.
* hazard types... very cold wind chill values.
* Timing... very cold wind chill values through this morning.
* Impacts... frostbite can occur quickly without proper
protection.
* Winds... northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
* Temperatures... 6 below to 6 above zero.
* Wind chill... as low as 29 below.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds
will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in
frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
If you must venture outdoors... make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.
