Wind chill advisory update

Wind Chill Advisory Statement as of 2:55 am EST on February 23, 2015

Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect from 10 PM this evening

to 8 am EST Tuesday.

* hazard types... very low wind chills.

* Wind chill... as low as 25 below due to temperatures 11 below

 to zero... and winds west 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

* Timing... temperatures will drop all day Monday and into early

 Tuesday morning. The coldest wind chill values are expected to

 be Monday evening into the overnight hours.

* Impacts... frost bite and hypothermia are possible.

* Winds... west 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

* Temperatures... 11 below to zero.

 

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds

will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in

frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.

If you must venture outdoors... make sure you wear a hat and

gloves. Remember to bring your pets inside.
