Wind Chill Advisory, Winter Weather Advisory Statement as of 9:05 am EST on February 15, 2015

Wind Chill Advisory in effect until noon EST Monday.

Winter Weather Advisory in effect until midnight EDT tonight.

Blizzard Warning is cancelled...

The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Weather

Advisory for snow and blowing snow... which is in effect until

midnight EST tonight. A Wind Chill Advisory has also been issued.

This Wind Chill Advisory is in effect until noon EST Monday. The

Blizzard Warning has been cancelled.

* Hazard types... blowing snow and cold wind chill values.

* Accumulations... additional snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches.

* Timing... snowfall is ending but blowing snow will continue

through the evening.

* Impacts... significant blowing and drifting snow will make travel

hazardous with snow covered roads and low visibility. Wind chill

values of 20 to 30 below zero will allow frostbite to occur

quickly without proper protection.

* Winds... northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* Temperatures... in the single digits above and below zero.

* Wind chill... 20 to 30 below zero tonight and Monday morning.

 

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for blowing snow means that

visibilities will be limited due to strong winds blowing snow

around. Use caution when traveling... especially in open areas.
