This morning we have partly sunny skies with much colder temps, highs only in the lower 20s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph gusting to 25 mph. Wind chill values as low as 2 below. Tonight we’ll have partly cloudy conditions with lows around 11°F. Winds will be Southwest around 10 mph gusting to 25 mph. Wind chill values as low as 2 below. Small streams will rise rapidly and could flood low water crossings. * WHERE...Portions of Maine, including the following counties, Androscoggin, Cumberland, Franklin, Kennebec, Oxford, Somerset and Waldo. Portions of northern New Hampshire, including the following counties, Carroll and Coos. * WHEN...Until 9:00 PM EST Friday. Additional warnings possible thereafter due to continued rises on small stream and creeks. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is expected to develop early afternoon and continue into this evening. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1217 PM EST, 1 to 2 inches of rainfall had fallen. Kennebec River At Skowhegan affecting Somerset and Kennebec Counties. Kennebec River At North Sidney affecting Kennebec County. Kennebec River At Augusta affecting Kennebec County. Kennebec River at Hallowell affecting Sagadahoc and Kennebec Counties. For the Kennebec River...including Skowhegan, North Sidney, Augusta, Hallowell...Minor up to Moderate flooding is forecast. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Dec. 23 Reading correction

This is a correction of the rain amount reading posted in the preceding post. The rain amount reading is 0.67 inches, not 9.67 inches. The #9 is right next to the #0. Fingers got in a hurry.

Good morning Augusta. I’ve put up an Ambient WS 5000 weather station where you can view real time weather readings from my location online by clicking here . There are 2 NWS alerts at the bottom of this post. READ THEMN. This morning we have rain which may be heavy at times. Windy with highs in the upper 40s with Southeast winds 20 to 30 mph gusting to 55 mph. Tonight we’ll have clouds with rain showers likely, a chance of snow showers in the evening, and partly cloudy with a slight chance of snow showers after midnight. Little or no snow accumulation. Lows will be around 14°F, Winds will be Southwest 15 to 25 mph gusting to 55 mph, decreasing to 40 mph after midnight. Wind chill values as low as -2°F. We’ve received 9.70 (so far) rain here over the past 24 hours and it isn’t even close to being done. wind is North Northwest between  2.0 MPH and 6.5 MPH, and we’ve clocked a “peak gust” of 21 MPH.
