Wind Chill Advisory

Statement as of 3:02 am EST on January 8, 2015

Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect until 10 am EST this

morning.

* hazard types... bitter cold wind chill values.

* Wind chill... as low as 29 below due to temperatures 3 below to

14 below zero... and winds northwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up

to 25 mph.

* Timing... through mid morning today.

* Impacts... extremely cold wind chills will cause frost bite

 very quickly.

* Winds... northwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* Air temperatures... 14 below to 16 above zero.

 

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds

will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in

frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.

If you must venture outdoors... make sure you wear a hat and

gloves.
