Wind Chill Advisory
Statement as of 7:13 am EST on January 5, 2015
Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect from 9 PM this evening
to 10 am EST Tuesday...
* hazard types... very cold wind chills.
* Timing... temperatures begin to drop today through tonight and
will not rise significantly until 10 am Tuesday.
* Impacts... very cold air may result in frostbite or hypothermia.
* Winds... west 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
* Temperatures... zero to 10 below zero.
* Wind chill... as low as 25 below due to temperatures zero to 10
below... and winds west 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds
will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in
frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
If you must venture outdoors... make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.
