Blowing and snowing this morning

Good morning Augusta.

The Blizzard is here, so if you haven’t gotten up yet DO NOT look outside. Stay in bed and stay off of the roads!

This morning it is overcast with snow. High of 16F with a windchill as low as -17F. Windy. Winds from the NNE at 25 to 30 mph with gusts to 35 mph. Chance of snow 100% with accumulations up to 9 in. possible.

Tonight it will be overcast with snow. Low of 10F with a windchill as low as -8F. Windy. Winds from the North at 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 35 mph. Chance of snow 90% with accumulations up to 7 in. possible.

The readings from my own weather instruments are:

The humidity is 88% with a dew point of -4.0ºF, Temp is 7.4ºF. and a

wind chill of -17.1ºF.

Our wind direction is Northeast between 12.8 MPH and  20.6 MPH. 

The Barometric pressure is 29.85 HPA 1009 and falling with a weather graphic indicating snow.

There is no UV rating because of the blizzard, Sunrise is at 7:02 a.m. sunset is 4:41 PM and Moon Rise is 11:05 a.m. EDT and the moon phase is in it’s first quarter.

Visibility is 0.2 miles / 0.4 kilometers with heavy low cloud clouds.

We have a lot of blowing snow out there and I can’t tell you how much we have so far yet, but we’re expecting about a foot.
