Wind Chill Advisory
Statement as of 3:04 am EST on January 7, 2015
Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect from 5 PM this afternoon
to 10 am EST Thursday.
* hazard types... bitter cold wind chill values.
* Wind chill... as low as 29 below... due to air temperatures of 14
below to 16 above zero... and northwest winds 10 to 20 mph with
gusts up to 30 mph.
* Timing... this evening through mid morning Thursday.
* Impacts... extremely cold wind chills will cause frost bite
very quickly.
* Winds... northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
* Air temperatures... 14 below to 16 above zero.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds
will combine to generate low wind chills. This will result in
frost bite and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken.
If you must venture outdoors... make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.
