Statement as of 3:42 am EST on February 18, 2014
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 10 am this
morning to 4 am EST Wednesday...
* hazard types... snow.
* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 4 to 6 inches... with
locally higher amounts possible.
* Timing... occasional light snow this expected to fall starting
late this morning or early afternoon. The snow will become heavy
at times late this afternoon into the evening hours. The snow
will then taper off from south to north late this
evening... ending after midnight.
* Impacts... slippery... snow-packed roads and reduced
visibilities... especially during the evening commute.
* Winds... east 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.
* Temperatures... in the 20s to lower 30s.
* Visibilities... one quarter mile or less at times.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
