Winter Storm Watch in effect from Saturday afternoon through
late Saturday night.
The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Storm
Watch which is in effect from Saturday afternoon through late
Saturday night.
* Hazard types... heavy snow.
* Accumulations... the potential exists for snow accumulations of 4
to 8 inches... with somewhat higher amounts possible for mid
coast Maine and the capital district mainly east of Augusta.
* Timing... late Saturday and Saturday night.
* Impacts... snow and blowing snow will produce slick driving and
sharply reduced visibilities.
* Winds... north 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
* Temperatures... in the 20s.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
