Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 5:30 am EST on February 15, 2014
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 5 PM this
afternoon to 10 am EST Sunday.
* hazard types... heavy snow.
* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches... with
amounts up to 15 inches on the mid coast.
* Timing... late today through early Sunday.
* Impacts... snow and blowing snow will make travel difficult.
* Winds... north 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
* Visibilities... one quarter mile or less at times.
* Temperatures... in the mid 20s.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in
an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight...
food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
