Good Morning Augusta

We’re under a winter weather advisory for freezing rain until 10 a.m. this morning so be careful behind the wheel.

This morning we have clouds with morning light freezing rain, Windy at times. High will reach 41°F. Winds NNE at 25 to 35 mph with gusting over 40 mph.

Tonight we’ll have overcast skies with windy conditions. A few flurries or snow showers possible with lows of 32°F. Winds NNE at 20 to 30 mph.

The readings from my weather instruments are:

Humidity is 86%, the Dew Point is 27.7°F and the outdoor temp is 31.5°F.

The wind direction is   Northeast between 12.1 MPH and 15.3 MPH, generating a wind chill of 20.5°F.

The Relative pressure is 29.55, the Absolute pressure is 29.35 and falling with a weather graphic indicating rain.

The UV rating is 0 out of 16, Sunrise is 6:14 a.m. Sunset is 5:28 p.m., Moonrise is 6:23 p.m., Moonset is 6:46 a.m. and we have a FULL MOON being 100% illuminated.

We received some freezing rain this morning, but not enough to measure yet.

Today’s Solar flux is 78, the solar wind speed is 361  Kilometers per second and the chance of a solar storm is 1%.

Yesterday’s chocolate-filled thumbprint cookies were so well received that I am posting another grab ‘n go goodie recipe. Enjoy.

CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER KRISPY BARS

1 cup sugar

1 cup white Karo syrup

1 cup peanut butter

6 cups Rice Krispies

Chocolate chips, butterscotch chips

1.       

2.      Bring sugar and Karo to a boil.  Remove from heat.

3.      Add peanut butter, mix well, then add Rice Krispies.

4.      Grease 9”x13” pan.

5.      Turn mixture into prepared pan, and pat down to make an even layer.

6.      Melt chocolate chips and butterscotch chips (at least 12 oz., more is okay!).

7.      Spread onto Krispie mixture.

8.      When set, cut into squares.
