Near term /until 6 PM this evening/...

11 am update...

quick update to adjust temp/TD/sky grids. High clouds have pretty much cleared southern zones and sunny skies will prevail through the rest of the day. Despite the sun high temps will remain well below normal.....Not getting out of the single numbers north and in the teens to lower 20s south. Will also be dropping sca's from

the coastal waters forecast at noon. No other changes planned attm.

Previous discussion...

broad cyclonic flow aloft is in place with no major weather makers until mid week.

Dense and cold high pressure which is affecting the entire Continental U.S. Will edge in farther from the west today. The surface high

will be confined to the eastern Seaboard and to the SW into Mexico as low pressure over western Canada moves south. After a chilly start and ongoing cold air advection from last night's

cold front, high temperatures will hover in the single digits north and teens and 20s south.

North winds will weaken and become variable late this afternoon and evening as the ridge axis passes overhead. Strong subsidence will allow for sunny skies today, but there will be cirrus around with a very strong upper level jet(200 kts) overhead.
