* snow squall warning for... southern Kennebec County in south central Maine...

northwestern Knox County in south central Maine... Waldo County in south central Maine...

central Androscoggin County in southwestern Maine... southeastern Somerset County in west central Maine... Lincoln County in south central Maine...

northern Sagadahoc County in south central Maine...

* until 515 PM EST.

* At 415 PM EST, a dangerous snow squall was located along a line

extending from 9 miles northeast of Unity to near Palermo to near

Lewiston, moving east at 45 mph.

Hazard... extremely poor visibility in snow and blowing snow. Wind

           gusts greater than 30 mph.

Source... radar indicated.

Impact... dangerous life-threatening travel.

This includes the following highways...

Interstate 295 between mile markers 38 and 51.

Interstate 95 between mile markers 77 and 108.

Locations impacted include...

Lewiston, Augusta, Belfast, Gardiner, Damariscotta, Lincolnville,

Thorndike, Searsport, Wiscasset, China, Litchfield, Farmingdale,

Manchester, Hallowell, Liberty, Winterport, Palermo, Unity, Prospect

and Stockton Springs.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Reduce your speed and turn on headlights! During snow squalls, the

visibility may suddenly drop to near zero in whiteout conditions.
