High wind watch remains in effect from Saturday afternoon through Saturday evening.

* winds... southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

The stronger gusts will then quickly advance northeastward to much of the Maine coastal plain including portions of central Maine by  late afternoon. Winds are expected to diminish Saturday evening.

* Impacts... downed trees and power lines possible. This would likely result in power outages if the stronger wind gusts do indeed develop.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high wind watch means there is the potential for a hazardous high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 40 mph... or gusts of 58 mph or stronger may occur. Continue to monitor the latest
