#MEwx Seasonal Temps with rain and a delicious and hardy soup for dinner tonight

Tonight we’ll have rain with decreasing clouds tonight. Low around 45°F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph.

How about a thick and tasty soup with almost everything in it?

POTPOURRI SOUP

3 T. butter or margarine

¾ lb ground beef or venison

3 onions, sliced

1/3 cup barley (optional)

1 14 oz can tomatoes

1½ qts. Water or stock

1 T. salt

½ tsp. pepper

3 carrots, sliced

3 potatoes, diced

3 stalks celery, diced

1 tsp. steak sauce

1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

In a large soup pot, brown meat.  Add onions and cook for a few minutes.  Add rest of ingredients, cover, and simmer over low heat for about one hour until meat is cooked and vegetables are done.

Serve with hot corn bread or biscuits.
