Sleet, freezing rain and increasing temps

We’re still under the Winter Weather Advisory until 9 this morning, it’s still coming down out there, only now it’s sleet, so drive in the “sane lane.”

This morning it’s sleeting, and we have areas of freezing rain possible. It’s cloudy with a high of 47ºF. Winds from the W at 10 to 15 mph. 

Tonight we’ll have partly cloudy skies with a low around 18ºF. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph.

The readings from my weather instruments in the North field are:

Humidity is 92%, the dew point is 14ºF, outside it’s -8.7ºC and 16.4ºF.

The wind direction is West between 1.1 MPH and 2.7 MPH, generating a wind chill of 16.4ºF.

The Barometric pressure is 29.52 / HPA 1001.3 and falling with a weather graphic indicating rain.

The UV rating is 0 out of 16, Sunrise is at 6:48 a.m. Sunset is 4:58 P.M. Moon rise is at 2:40 p.m., Moon set is 4:47 a.m. and the moon phase is waxing gibbous.

We are getting more snow and sleet as we speak, so far a 24 hour total of roughly 3.5 inches.

Okay, what if you have kids around?  You know, kids who burn off every meal an hour after you put it in them?  Well, there are those “kids” that you married too, but I’m talking about the little ones here.

Give ‘em this one.  It’ll fill those hollow legs of theirs for a little while.

COOKIES AND CREAM PIE

Makes 8 servings

1 ½ cups cold milk (or ½-cup dry milk powder and 1 ½ cold water)

1 pkg ( 4 serving size) JELL-O Vanilla sugar free Instant Pudding and Pie Filling

1 tub (8 oz) COOL WHIP Free whipped topping, thawed

1 cup chopped OREO chocolate sandwich cookies

1 OREO Pie crust

Pour milk into large bowl.  Add pudding mix.  Beat with wire whisk 2 minutes.  Let stand 5 minutes.  Gently stir in whipped topping and chopped cookies.  Spoon into crust.  Freeze 6 hours or overnight until firm.  Let stand at room temperature or in refrigerator 15 minutes or until pie can be cut easily.  Garnish with additional chocolate sandwich cookies.  Store left over pie in freezer.
