#MEwx Special Statement for strong thunderstorms

A cluster of strong thunderstorms will affect northern Kennebec... central Oxford... northeastern Androscoggin... south Central Somerset and southeastern Franklin counties.

At 1107 am EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 8 miles west of Madison to 6 miles northwest of Wilton to Errol. Movement was southeast at 25 mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail are possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include...

Waterville, Farmington, Fairfield, Bethel, Oakland, Rumford, Turner,

Skowhegan, Madison, Jay, Belgrade, Livermore Falls, Dixfield, Canton,

Andover, Norridgewock, Wilton, Mexico, Grafton and Weld.

This includes Interstate 95 between mile markers 123 and 134.

This also includes...

Mount Zircon and Baldpate Mountain.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may

cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded

roadways.
