Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 9 PM EST this

evening

* locations... much of western Maine including the midcoast...

foothills... and western Maine mountains. This includes

Lewiston... Augusta... Rockland... Skowhegan... and Rumford.

* Hazard types... heavy snow. Some blowing and drifting snow.

* Accumulations... 6 to 10 inches of snow.

* Timing... through this evening.

* Impacts... roads will be snow covered and slippery.

* Winds... northeast 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* Temperatures... highs today from 20 to 30.

*Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather

conditions are occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast

that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If

you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food... and water in

your vehicle in case of an emergency.
