Overcast and gloomy

Good Morning Augusta.

This morning it is overcast with a chance of rain. High of 54F. Winds from the ESE at 5-10 mph. Chance of rain 40%.

Tonight it will be overcast with a chance of rain, then a chance of snow and rain showers after midnight. Low of 32F. Winds from the NE at 5-15 mph. Chance of precipitation 50% .

The readings outside right now, taken from my own weather instruments:

a relative humidity of 72% with a Dew Point of 33.2ºF.

The temperature is 41.8ºF with no wind chill.

Presently we have West Southwest winds between  1.3 mph and 2.7 mph, as the day progresses winds will increase.

Our Barometric pressure is 29.95 and falling with a weather graphic indicating rain.

We had no precipitation in this area overnight, but we will get rain, then a rain/snow mix is possible into this evening.

Visibility is 10.0 miles and cloudy with overcast to 7,500 feet.

Since the weather is getting better and you may need a kid-friendly project for the outdoors that does NOT involve high technology, why not build one of the oldest known flying machines, a hot air balloon (in miniature).

Its cheap and fun, go to:

If balloons aren't your particular interest, and if you are a "bigger kid" why not build an ultralight aircraft or helicopter? (These plans are for bigger projects, but if that is your interest…)

And, if you are a really big kid, this one is for real folks…

"12 NASA Blueprints for building your own spaceship"

"Just because the Shuttle Program is kaput doesn't mean you can't cobble together a lunar lander from spare parts. Our friends at Oobject have collected 12 of NASA's best to get you started.

And if you need more inspiration to get your spacecraft out of the garage and onto a home-brew launch pad in the front yard, check out these 12 clay automotive mock-ups, these 13 cutaways, or these 12—albeit cramped—space capsules. (Photos not shown here, so if you want to see them go to the web site)

No kidding, go to:

So, if you put some of the foregoing together with my post of two days ago about building and testing your own rocket engines…

(Just how boring do you want your life to be anyway?)
