Flood Warning as of 3:23 am EST on January 26, 2018 A Flood Warning for an ice jam remains in effect until 100 PM EST Friday for south central Kennebec... west central Lincoln and north central Sagadahoc counties... At 319 am EST, an ice jam remains on the Kennebec river near Farmingdale. The water level at Augusta continues to fluctuate just below flood stage. Due to the cold weather, more frazil ice is flowing downstream and accumulating in Augusta. People living and working along the river from Augusta downstream to Hallowell and Gardiner should remain alert for rapidly rising water. Remember that ice jams are unpredictable and can form and shift with little if any warning. Precautionary/preparedness actions... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most locations have risen to between 32 and 35 degrees across the region with many treated roads just wet or slushy.
