#MEwx Special Statement #2 for strong thunderstorms

A line of strong thunderstorms will affect northeastern

Kennebec... western Waldo and southeastern Somerset counties...

At 1224 PM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located

along a line extending from 8 miles southwest of Dexter to near

Belgrade. Movement was east at 25 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail are possible with these

storms.

Locations impacted include...

Augusta, Waterville, Fairfield, Oakland, Pittsfield, Thorndike,

Skowhegan, China, Clinton, Belgrade, Manchester, Liberty, Palermo,

Unity, Winterport, Knox, Benton, Canaan, Albion and Hartland.

This includes Interstate 95 between mile markers 112 and 156.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may

cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded

roadways.
