Winter Storm Watch statement as of 3:29 am EDT on March 12, 2017
Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon.
Wind Chill Advisory is cancelled...
The National Weather Service in gray has cancelled the Wind Chill Advisory.
* Hazard types... very cold wind chill values through this morning
and the potential for heavy snowfall Tuesday and Wednesday.
* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 12 to 16 inches.
* Timing... cold wind chills continue through this morning. Heavy
snow is expected Tuesday into Wednesday.
* Temperatures... 3 below to 31 above zero.
* Winds... northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
* Impacts... the combination of very cold temperatures and strong
winds will make it feel much colder. Frostbite will occur very
quickly on any exposed skin. Potentially heavy snow Tuesday into
Wednesday may lead to dangerous travel conditions.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
