Winter Storm Warning statement as of 3:27 am EDT on March 14, 2017
Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 9 am this morning to 8 am EDT Wednesday...
* hazard types... heavy snow.
* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 14 to 18 inches.
* Timing... snow will begin this morning. The heaviest snow and
most significant impacts are expected this afternoon into
tonight. Snow will taper off Wednesday morning.
* Temperatures... in the lower 20s.
* Winds... northeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
* Visibilities... one quarter mile or less at times.
* Impacts... heavy snow today tonight combined with gusty winds and
blowing snow... will create near-blizzard conditions at times and
lead to dangerous travel.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in
an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight...
food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
