Above freezing with sun, more melting

Good Morning Augusta

This morning we have some patchy black ice and partly cloudy skies. High 39F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight we’ll continue with partly cloudy skies. Low 23F. Winds light and variable.

The readings from my instruments are:

Humidity is 75%, the dew point is 25ºF, its 33.3ºF outside with a wind chill of 30.1ºF.

The wind direction is West Northwest between 4.3 mph and 7.0 mph.

The Barometric pressure is 29.86 / HPA 1011.1 and rising with a weather graphic indicating sun.

The UV rating is 1.0 out of 16, Sunrise is at 6:36 a.m. Sunset is 5:10 P.M. Moon rise is at 12:31 p.m. and the moon phase is      waxing gibbous.

The RAW METAR readings from the airport in Augusta Maine is:

METAR KAUG 171153Z AUTO 31009KT 10SM CLR 00/M04 A2976 RMK AO2 PRESRR SLP080 70066 T00001039 10072 20000 53035

Visibility is 10.0 miles / 16.1 kilometers with clear sklies and NO rain or snow.

We received 0.55 inches of rain yesterday, however part of that measurement is melted snow.  Suffice to say this is why we have some black ice out there today.
