DANGEROUSLY COLD WIND CHILLS EXPECTED FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.

An arctic cold front will cross the region Thursday night and drive temperatures steadily downward through Saturday morning. The bitter cold combined with gusty winds will likely lead to widespread

dangerously cold wind chills beginning as early as Thursday night in the mountains and Friday afternoon to the south. The exact timing and magnitude of the worst cold may continue to fluctuate slightly

over the next couple of days, but at least a portion if not all of the watch area is expected to see dangerously cold wind chills.

* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills likely. Wind chills as low as

30 below zero possible.

* WHERE...Portions of south central, southwest, and western Maine.

Portions of central, northern, and southern New Hampshire.

* WHEN...From Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Wind chill values may fall to extremely dangerous levels.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure

portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
