Statement as of 3:17 PM EST on December 8, 2013
Winter Weather Advisory in effect from midnight tonight to
midnight EST Monday night...
The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Weather
Advisory for snow and sleet... which is in effect from midnight
tonight to midnight EST Monday night.
* Locations... central and eastern New Hampshire as well as the
coastal plain region of western Maine.
* Hazard types... snow may transition to sleet during the day on
Monday.
* Accumulations... total snow and sleet accumulation of 3 to 5
inches are expected.
* Timing... snow will begin across southern New Hampshire around
midnight and spread north across Maine by daybreak. A transition
to sleet may occur on Monday... with rain possible closer to the
coast. Precipitation will end from west to east Monday evening.
* Impacts... snow and sleet accumulations will make driving more
difficult. Use extra caution when driving.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and sleet means periods of snow
and sleet are imminent or occurring. Sleet may cause driving to
become extremely dangerous... so be prepared to use caution when
traveling.
