Winter Storm Warning in effect from 9 PM Saturday to 3 PM EST

Sunday...

The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Storm

Warning for heavy snow... which is in effect from 9 PM Saturday to

3 PM EST Sunday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.

* Locations... southern interior Maine.

* Hazard types... heavy snow.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 6 to 12 inches.

* Timing... snow will spread northeast across the region Saturday

evening.

* Impacts... accumulating snow and gusty winds will produce slick

roads and sharply reduced visibilities in blowing and drifting

snow.

* Winds... northeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Temperatures... 1 below to 16 above zero.

* Visibilities... one quarter mile or less at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather

conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow

are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an

emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra

flashlight... food... and water in your vehicle in case of an

emergency.
