Winter Storm Warning

Statement as of 3:35 am EST on December 15, 2013

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 3 PM EST this

afternoon...

* locations... the foothills of Maine.

* Hazard types... heavy snow.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 10 to 14 inches.

* Timing... snow, heavy at times, will continue through this

morning... then taper off this afternoon.

* Impacts... snow will make travel difficult and could reduce

visibilities to one quarter mile or less at times. Gusty winds

will cause some blowing and drifting of the snow.

* Winds... northeast 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* Temperatures... 4 to 20 above.

* Visibilities... one quarter mile or less at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather

conditions are occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast

that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If

you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food... and water in

your vehicle in case of an emergency.
