Statement as of 3:18 PM EST on December 17, 2013
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 am EST
Wednesday.
* locations... southern Franklin... southern Somerset...
Cumberland... Androscoggin... and Kennebec counties in Maine.
* Hazard types... snow.
* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 3 to 6 inches... with
isolated amounts around 7 inches possible on the immediate
coast.
* Timing... snow will continue this evening... possibly heavy at
times. It will taper off after midnight and end by dawn.
* Impacts... slippery roadways... reduced visibilities.
* Winds... northeast 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.
* Temperatures... 10 to 18 above.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
