Winter Weather Advisory
Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 6 am EST Monday...
The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Weather
Advisory for a mixture of snow... sleet... and freezing rain... which
is in effect until 6 am EST Monday.
* Locations... interior Cumberland County Maine... including
Androscoggin... Kennebec... northern Waldo counties... and the
southern portions of Franklin and Somerset counties.
* Hazard types... a mixture of snow... sleet... freezing rain... and
rain which will slicken up roads... mainly secondary ones as
surface temperatures hover in the 30 to 32 degree range
overnight. Not all locations will see freezing rain as some
locations have crept just above the freezing mark.
* Accumulations... snow and sleet accumulations of 1 to 3 inches
are expected... along with up to two tenths of an inch of glaze
in areas that see more freezing rain and sleet versus snow.
* Timing... overnight.
* Impacts... slippery roadways.
* Winds... northeast 5 to 10 mph.
* Temperatures... 30 to 33.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
