Statement as of 3:31 am EST on December 17, 2013
Winter Weather Advisory now in effect from 2 PM this afternoon
to 7 am EST Wednesday...
* locations... southern Franklin... southern Somerset...
Cumberland... Androscoggin... and Kennebec counties in Maine.
* Hazard types... snow.
* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches.
* Timing... light snow will begin by early afternoon and last
through much of tonight.
* Impacts... slippery roadways... reduced visibilities.
* Winds... northeast 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.
* Temperatures... 9 to 18 above.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
