... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 3 am to 3 PM EST
Monday...
The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Weather
Advisory for a mixture of snow... sleet... and freezing rain... which
is in effect from 3 am to 3 PM EST Monday.
* Locations... Androscoggin... Kennebec... and interior Waldo County
Maine.
* Hazard types... light snow... sleet... and pockets of freezing
rain.
* Accumulations... 1 to 3 inches of snow and sleet... followed by up
to a quarter inch of ice.
* Timing... a mix of snow and sleet develops after midnight
tonight. This mix will eventually change to freezing rain Monday
morning... then to all rain early Monday afternoon.
* Impacts... locally slippery roadways.
* Winds... east 5 to 10 mph.
* Temperatures... in the lower 30s.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
