Statement as of 3:26 am EST on December 1, 2012

Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to

7 am EST Sunday...

The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Weather

Advisory for light snow and freezing drizzle... which is in effect

from 5 PM this afternoon to 7 am EST Sunday.

Locations... southern Maine northward to the western Maine

mountains excluding the immediate coast. New Hampshire is also

included except for the seacoast.

Hazard types... light snow with areas of freezing drizzle.

Accumulations... up to an inch and a half of snow... along with a

light glaze of ice.

Timing... light snow will likely develop this morning across

southern New Hampshire and southernmost Maine and spread

northward as the day progresses. Some freezing drizzle is likely

to mix in this evening and overnight.

Impacts... locally slippery conditions. Even areas that are

expected to rise to a few degrees above freezing tonight may

experience continued light icing for a few hours due to very cold

surface temperatures... especially parking lots... sidewalks... and

secondary roads.

Winds... generally 5 mph or less.

Temperatures... in the upper 20s... rising into the 30s late.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or

freezing rain or freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties.

Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use

caution while driving.
