Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 3:35 am EST on December 17, 2012
Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST this
evening...
* Locations... western Maine except the coast and mountains.
* Hazard types... snow... sleet... and freezing rain.
* Accumulations... an additional 2 to 3 inches of snow... and up to
a tenth of an inch of ice.
* Timing... snow will continue this morning. Sleet and freezing
rain will mix in from time to time from mid morning on.
* Impacts... accumulation of snow and ice will create hazardous
travel conditions... roads will become slippery.
* Winds... northeast 5 to 10 mph.
* Temperatures... in the mid 20s.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
