We have had no rain or snow in this area in the past 24 hours.
Its New Years eve, and congress still can't deal effectively with this "fiscal cliff" in a realistic way.
As Einstein has said, "We cannot solve the problems of today at the level of thinking at which they were first created." Another way of saying it is what one of my psychologist friends said, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result."
Jean-Lou Chameau, Dean of Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology has said, "We need to change the mindsets not just the problem sets" .
The Busch era tax cuts were created over a decade ago. Things have changed folks. Stop trying to preserve the political past.
You've seen this coming for years and have waited to the last minute to deal with it.
As I think back on how those of us out here in the real world raised our kids not to do exactly what you are doing, it is apparent to me that we didn't fire enough of you in the last election.
Happy new year Congress.
