The National Weather Service in gray has issued a

* Flood Warning for the Kennebec river at Augusta

* from Tuesday morning until Wednesday evening.

* At 2 PM the stage was 9.1 feet.

* Minor flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.

* Forecast to rise above flood stage by tomorrow late morning and

continue to rise to near 13.4 feet by tomorrow afternoon. The river

will fall below flood stage by Wednesday afternoon.

* Impact... at 13.0 feet... water covering dock at Town Landing in

Hallowell.

* Impact... at 12.0 feet... water begins to flood parking lot on front

street in Augusta.

Areal Flood Watch

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Maine and northern New Hampshire, including the

following areas, in Maine, Androscoggin, Central Somerset,

Kennebec, northern Franklin, northern Oxford, southern

Franklin, southern Oxford, and southern Somerset. In northern

New Hampshire, northern Carroll, northern Coos, northern

Grafton, southern Carroll, southern Coos, and southern

Grafton.

* From 8 am EDT this morning through Tuesday morning

* rainfall and snowmelt may lead to minor river flooding.

current forecasts.
