Winter storm watch for tuesday on top of current advisory
Winter Storm Watch in effect from Tuesday morning through
Tuesday evening.
The National Weather Service in gray has issued a Winter Storm
Watch which is in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening.
* Hazard types... freezing rain... sleet... and snow ending this
evening. Snow on Tuesday possibly mixing with sleet and freezing
rain.
* Accumulations... 6 or more inches of snow and sleet possible
Tuesday into Tuesday night... along with some ice accretion
possible.
* Timing... any mixed precipitation will end this evening. The next
system will deliver snow to the area beginning early Tuesday
morning and may become heavy at times throughout the day.
* Impacts... snow covered roads will make for difficult travel.
* Winds... north 5 to 15 mph.
* Visibilities... half mile or less at times Tuesday.
* Temperatures... in the teens and 20s Tuesday.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
