interior Waldo County in Maine

Lincoln County in Maine

coastal Waldo County in Maine

Kennebec County in Maine

* until 1215 PM EST

* at 1125 am EST... National Weather Service Doppler radar was

tracking a band of heavy snow showers along a line extending from

8 miles west of Hermon to near Lewiston... moving to the east at 40

mph. These snow showers will cross parts of the Maine Turnpike

north of Lewiston... and Interstate 95 north of Augusta in the next

hour. Snow may briefly reduce visibility to one quarter mile or

less at times.

* Wind gusts of 35 mph are expected with this snow.

* Locations impacted include...

 Turner...

 Augusta...

 Waterville...

 Skowhegan...

 and Belfast.

 

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Heavy snow showers can limit visibilities to less than a hundred

feet. You may encounter roadway hazards without having adequate time

to safely avoid them. If you must drive... do so at low speed.

Maintain extra separation between yourself and surrounding vehicles.
