Overcast and snowing

Good Morning Augusta.

This morning it is cloudy with snow likely mainly this afternoon. Snow accumulation around an inch and highs in the mid 20s. Light and variable winds. Chance of snow 70%.

Tonight we have snow likely, with sleet likely after midnight. Total snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches. Lows in the lower 20s. Light and variable winds. Chance of precipitation 70%.

The readings outside right now, taken from my own instrumentation  are:

a relative humidity of 80% with a Dew Point of 13.5ºF.

The temperature is 18.7ºF with a wind chill of 17.0ºF.

The wind velocity right now is between 0.9 mph and 2.7 mph out of the Northeast.

Our Barometric pressure is 30.17 and rising. The weather graphic indicates sun.

We had no measurable precipitation yesterday or last night but its snowing outside as we speak.

Visibility is 1.2 miles with light snow and overcast down to 2,200 feet.

Today, being the end of January, I give you some thoughts to ponder as the state's budget is debated and the nation's politicians pretend to know what we are going through:

*DELIBERATION, n.  The act of examining one's bread to determine which

side it is buttered on.

*DISCUSSION, n.  A method of confirming others in their errors.

*CHIVALRY - A mans inclination to defend a woman against every man but himself.

*CONSCIENCE - That which hurts when everything else feels so good.

*VISE - Anything you enjoy that is bad for you.

*SIN - Anything the other fellow enjoys and you don't.

*PURITAN – AN INDIVIDUAL WHO SUSPECTS THAT SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE IS HAVING FUN.
