cloudy and heavy looking outside

Good Morning Augusta Maine.

This morning it is partly sunny. Highs in the upper 30s with light and variable winds.

Tonight it will be mostly cloudy in the evening then clearing. Lows in the mid 20s. Light and variable winds.

The readings outside right now, taken from my own instrumentation  are:

a relative humidity of 89% with a Dew Point of 22.2ºF.

The temperature is 25.6ºF with almost no wind chill.

The wind velocity right now is between 0.0 mph and 2.0 mph out of the Southwest.

Our Barometric pressure is 29.68 and falling. The weather graphic indicates rain.

The measurable precipitation in the past 24 hours was, in the North end of Augusta, around 2 inches of snow/sleet depending on where you were. My rain gauge does not measure snow so we revert to the use of a more sophisticated weather instrument, we look out the window at the top of a flat-headed fence post to see how deep the snow on top of it is. This snow meter is strategically located out of the wind and is flawlessly accurate unless a squirrel gets up there again to play and knocks the snow off of it.

Visibility is 10.0 miles with some clouds to 11,000 feet.
