01/02/12 Word Day

Good Morning Augusta Maine, its back to the grind unless you are a Federal Employee, for them today is a Federal Holiday.

This morning it is partly Sunny with Temps expected to reach into the 40's again. There is a 40% chance of rain todaqy and you may expect some showers this morning. Winds are 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Tonight it will be mostly cloudy with temps dropping to a cold 15ºF and winds between 10 to 15 mph and gusts remaining as high as 25 mph. Wind chills will be very low tonight.

The readings outside right now, taken from my own instrumentation  are:

a relative humidity of 93% with a Dew Point of 41.0ºF.

The temperature is 42.8ºF. We have a very low wind chill right now, but that is definitely not going to last as the temps drop to the teens late tonight.

The wind velocity right now is between 3.4 mph and 6.0 mph out of the West Southwest – that is definitely increasing as the day progresses.

Our Barometric pressure is 29.36 and falling. The weather graphic indicates rain.

We had measurable precipitation in the past 24 hours of 0.33 inches.

Visibility is 10.0 miles with overcast and "few" clouds down to 1,000 feet, "scattered" clouds to 1,700 feet and overcast down to 2,400 feet.

I'm starting my annual New Year's diet today, how about you?
