WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 1 PM EST MONDAY.

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 6 inches.

* WHERE...Interior Waldo, Kennebec, and Androscoggin Counties.

* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 1 PM EST Monday.

* IMPACTS...The potential exists for snow bands that will bring periods of locally heavy snowfall, which will lead to rapid snow accumulations and dangerous travel conditions. Difficult travel

conditions are possible due to icy road conditions. Even light snowfall amounts can accumulate on roads and cause dangerous driving conditions due to snow covered roads. The hazardous

conditions could impact the Monday morning commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The timing of the heaviest snowfall around the Monday morning commute has prompted this warning to be issued.

 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
