HEAVY SNOW POSSIBLE THIS WEEKEND.

Low pressure will intensify as it tracks near Cape Cod on Saturday. As it does so it will spread rain and snow across northern New England. Rain changes to snow as colder air gets pulled into the storm during the day Saturday, with snow making it all the way to the coast. Significant snowfall accumulations are expected for parts of the area. A heavy, wet snow will stick efficiently to trees which could cause downed branches and a few power outages.

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM SATURDAY TO 1 PM EST SUNDAY.

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to

14 inches expected. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...Portions of central, northern and southern New Hampshire and south central, southwest, west central and western Maine.

* WHEN...From 10 AM Saturday to 1 PM EST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snowfall rates may exceed 1 inche per hour reducing visibility and will effectively stick to trees causing power outage concerns.
