#MEwx Warm, foggy, potential rain/Tstorms and Scrambled French Toast

This morning we have mostly cloudy skies with patchy fog that's rapidly burning off. A slight chance of showers with isolated thunderstorms this morning, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s with light and variable winds, becoming southeast around 10 mph this afternoon.

Tonight we'll have a chance of thunderstorms during evening hours. Mostly cloudy skies with a chance of showers and patchy fog after midnight. Humid with lows in the lower 60s. Winds will be light and variable.

We didn't receive any rain here  over the past 24 hours.

SCRAMBLED FRENCH TOAST

2 eggs

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

6 cups cubed day-old bread (1/2 inch cubes)

1 ½-2 tablespoons butter

¼ cup sugar (or to taste)

 

In a large bowl, beat eggs.  Add milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.  Add bread cubes and toss; let stand for 5 minutes.  Melt butter in a large skillet.  Add bread cubes and stir until cooked and browned.  Gradually add sugar; stir to coat evenly.  Cook until all sugar is dissolved, about 5 minutes.

 

3-4 servings.  1 serving = 1 cup, about 305 calories, 11 g fat, 127 mg cholesterol, 387 mg sodium.
