A strong thunderstorm will affect Knox... southwestern Waldo and northeastern Lincoln counties.

At 233 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 9 miles south of

Liberty, or 15 miles west of Camden, moving southeast at 25 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph and half inch hail are possible with this

storm.

Locations impacted include...

Rockland, Camden, Liberty, Bremen, Rockport, Thomaston, Palermo,

Jefferson, hope, Cushing, Appleton, Friendship, Union, Washington,

Waldoboro, Hibberts Gore, Somerville, Nobleboro and Windsor.

This also includes...

Friendship Long Island and Cranberry Island.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause

localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded

roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.

Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe

shelter inside a building or vehicle.
