Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 12:28 PM EST on November 2, 2014
Winter Storm Warning now in effect until 7 PM EST this
evening.
* hazard types... wet snow and strong winds.
* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches...
* timing... snow and rain early on this morning will give way to
snow heavy at times late morning and much of the afternoon. It
is expected to taper off and end by early this evening.
* Impacts... drivers may need to go slow and use caution. In
addition... wet snow will stick to trees and power lines. Downed
limbs may lead to power outages.
* Winds... north 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
* Temperatures... around 30.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight...
food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
